Routers
Routers are devices that
"split" the incoming Internet connection and provide it to
more than one Computer or Game Device. If all of your
devices are in the same room, you might want to consider a
wired router. Each of the computers or game devices
can connect to the wired router by an Ethernet cable.
But, if your computers or game devices are in different
rooms, you should consider a wireless router. Wireless
routers make their connection to each of the computers or
game devices over the air, this eliminating cables.
IP
Telephones
IP telephones are phones that
connect to the called party using an Internet connection
from your home or business which routes the voice traffic to
the provider's IP Switch that connects to the Public Switched Telephone
network so that you can talk to people who have regular land
lines or cellular phones.
Like any other product, there
are many providers of IP telephones and each has different
characteristics. Most all offer similar calling plans for
nearly the same price. The main difference that seems
to matter is the amount of Internet bandwidth that
each
demands. Bandwidth is analogous to water running through a
hose. Fire hoses can handle a LOT of water (bandwidth) vs garden
hoses which handle much less. The Internet offers a
variety of "hose sizes" more correctly called circuits.
Like a hose, each circuit has a finite capacity. If
lots of people are sending Internet traffic over a
particular circuit that your voice traffic is also crossing,
IP Telephones that demand a lot of capacity might experience
poorer service quality than IP Telephones that demand less
bandwidth. We have found that most of our customers
have better experience with IP Telephone services that
demand the least amount of bandwidth. The IP Phone
service that seems to demand the least bandwidth is
PACKET8.
Once you buy your Router or IP
Telephone, you need to connect it to your AZCI.net
connection. Trivial as that may seem, most people
aren't trained to do so and the support personnel supplied
by the manufacturers of the devices are often less
helpful than customers perceive they should be. So,
customers call
AZCI.net
looking for help. Service is
what
AZCI.net is all about, so we will provide over the
phone or on site service for a competitive hourly fee, to
assist in installing routers and IP Telephone devices.
Our hourly rate is $65.00 and our minimum fee is 30 minutes
for $32.50. Please call us to provide the service over
the phone or at your premises. |
